WageTime is payroll for independently owned and operated ComForCare offices. The programs that set the brand apart, from DementiaWise training to a 2 a.m. Connected Care alert, become pay rules that run themselves.
WageTime is an independent payroll provider serving independently owned and operated ComForCare franchise businesses. WageTime is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ComForCare, Best Life Brands, or At Your Side Home Care. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
A ComForCare office runs a dementia curriculum, a trademarked music visit, and a radar that never sleeps. Each one was designed upstream. Each one gets paid downstream, by you.
DementiaWise puts a caregiver through seven-plus hours of video modules, and for W-2 staff that clock time is generally payable whether or not anyone billed a client for it. The office that never set up a training pay code isn’t saving money. It’s accruing a wage claim with interest.
Connected Care watches all night, and a fall alert at 2 a.m. becomes a phone triage, a dispatch, a 45-minute visit. What does the caregiver who answered actually get: an on-call stipend, a callback minimum, a night differential, all three? The spreadsheet has no row for any of it.
Companion care at one rate Monday, DementiaWise dementia care at a second on Wednesday, a Joyful Memories hour at a third. Federal rules blend all three rates into one regular rate before the overtime premium lands, and the office that pays it on the last rate worked is quietly wrong every single week.
Royalty, general service fee, national advertising fee, local marketing spend: percents of gross sales, and gross sales here are caregiver hours. When paid hours drift from billed hours, the office pays wages on work the invoice never saw. The drift never shows up until the period already closed.
Corporate says every owner starts out with 2.5 full-time employees. So the first Friday has an owner, a coordinator, and half a scheduler on it, and the withholding files exactly like a fifty-caregiver office’s. Nobody budgeted a payroll clerk until year two. Somebody is still doing that job tonight.
Caregiver of the Year gets chosen from a network corporate counted at 12,000-plus caregivers, and the banquet is corporate’s job. The Friday paycheck is yours. A caregiver shorted on a night differential twice doesn’t stay for the chance at a plaque.
Two pay rules in WageTime: DementiaWise training hours run as paid time on their own pay code, and Joyful Memories visits schedule like any specialty service with their own service code and rate, so a music hour pays correctly next to a personal care shift.
| Caregiver | Hours paid | Status |

Replaces the binder of certificates, and the training hours that never made anyone’s paycheck.
An alert response is three pay events, and WageTime has a code for each: the on-call stipend for carrying the phone, the callback when the radar wakes somebody, and the night differential when the dispatch lands after dark.
Replaces the sticky note that said to ask Amara how long the fall call took.
Drift is the gap between the hours payroll paid and the hours the schedule sold. WageTime surfaces it while the period is still open: paid hours sit next to the scheduler’s plan, client by client, before the invoice goes out.
| Client | Paid | Drift |
|---|---|---|
| Kowalski homeScheduled 40.0 hr | 43.5 | +3.5 hr |
| Freeman homeScheduled 36.0 hr | 36.0 | 0.0 |
| Ellison homeScheduled 28.0 hr | 26.0 | -2.0 hr |
| Nowak homeScheduled 24.0 hr | 25.5 | +1.5 hr |
Replaces the export-and-pivot night before every billing period close.
A ComForCare office opens small by design: corporate’s own FAQ says every owner starts out with 2.5 full-time employees. WageTime prices for that shape: $50 a month plus $10 per person paid, so the day-one payroll of three costs $80 to run.
| Person | Type | Net pay |
|---|---|---|
| Marta V.Owner-administrator | Salaried | $2,310.00 |
| Deshawn C.Care coordinator | Salaried | $1,485.00 |
| Priya S.Scheduler, part-time | Hourly | $306.00 |
Replaces the payroll bureau that priced a three-person office like it already had fifty caregivers.
Full-service payroll is $10 a month per person paid that month, plus $50 a month per company, with unlimited runs. No long-term contracts, no per-run charges.
Off-cycle runs and bonuses cost nothing extra. No long-term contracts; cancel anytime.
Example: 50 people paid × $10 + $50 company = $550 for the month
HR & hiring, onboarding, PTO, time tracking, benefits, and workers’ comp are optional add-ons, priced separately when you’re ready.
See a demoBest Life Brands, a Michigan-based platform company created in January 2019 and backed by private equity firm The Riverside Company, owns ComForCare alongside sister brands At Your Side Home Care, CarePatrol, and Blue Moon Estate Sales. J.J. Sorrenti has led Best Life Brands as CEO since April 2020. Each ComForCare office is independently owned and operated by its franchisee.
The franchise owner employs the caregivers. Each ComForCare office is independently owned and operated, hires its own W-2 staff through the brand’s hiring process, and carries the employer obligations itself: wages, overtime, tax filings, and workers’ comp sit with the franchisee’s company, not with corporate.
For W-2 caregivers, yes in most cases: the seven-plus DementiaWise video modules are required work, so those hours belong on a paycheck even though no client was billed for them. In WageTime the modules pay at the caregiver’s rate, the completion date lands next to the certificate, and refreshers recur without a spreadsheet. Educational summary, not legal advice.
Published FDD summaries report a $59,000 standard franchise fee ($29,500 under the reduced-fee offering), total investment of roughly $73,000-$164,000, and a royalty of 5 to 7 percent depending on offering. Industry trackers estimate average unit gross sales near $806,000. Averages and estimates, not promises: verify against the current FDD.
ComForCare doesn’t publicly designate a scheduling vendor, so offices run different systems. Whatever yours is, we import clock and visit hours so there’s no double entry, and the hours arrive already split by program code, dementia care apart from companion care. Tell us your system on the demo and we’ll confirm the exact flow for your setup.
$50 per month per company plus $10 per person paid that month. Runs are unlimited, weekly pay day costs nothing extra, and off-cycle and final checks are included. Every federal, state, and local tax files automatically, with year-end W-2s and 1099s included. No long-term contracts; cancel anytime.
One caregiver’s week with a DementiaWise module, a Joyful Memories visit, and a 2 a.m. alert response, plus whatever else your office schedules. Twenty minutes with a payroll specialist on a live demo company: the training codes, the response pay, the labor-by-program report, and the invoice math for a roster your size.
